Title
Live-cell Raman images of HeLa cells using a deuterium-incorporated compound, TPMP-d15
Description
Time-series Raman images of HeLa cells treated with TPMP-d15 (2251-2322 cm^{-1}), which is deuterated methyltri phenylphosphonium iodide. The images of 10 min and 50 min after 1 mM TPMP-d15 treatment are shown. Fifty minutes after treatment, it was incorporated in mitochondria. The Raman images of cytochrome c (739-759 cm^{-1}), and their merged images are also reposited.

(Abstract) All aromatic C-H bonds of triphenylphosphine (PPh(3)) were efficiently replaced by C-D bonds using Ru/C and Ir/C co-catalysts in 2-PrOH and D(2)O, an inexpensive deuterium source. Furthermore, non-radioactive and safe deuterium-incorporated Mito-Q (drug candidate) was prepared from deuterated PPh(3) and used for the live-cell Raman imaging to evaluate the mitochondrial uptake.
